AMANDUS KAHL ix HAMBURG; Brick press with horizontal, lowering rotating mold axis
There are known brick presses, which have a settling rotating mold disc and up and down, moving with the disc press rams, which BEZW with their lower ends on a slide. guided in a guide disk connected to the mold disk and moved during a period of standstill of the mold disk in such a way that they compress the material received in the molds of the disk through an opening in the material container.
The invention described below relates to such brick presses and consists in the fact that the guide disc is adjustable in height to accommodate the volume

in Fig. 1 in elevation, in Fig. 2 in plan view.
The guide or support disk f, in whose holes k lower paragraphs of the punch i protrude, is not only arranged non-rotatably on the hub of the mold disk a, but is also adjustable in height by nut and lock nut mn for disk a to increase the punch or hold on less deeply in the forms b, that is, to be able to enlarge or reduce the volume of the forms, the bottoms of which form the stamps, depending on whether the forms are more or less material according to the material characteristics or. to accommodate the desired density of the pellets.
Adjusting the height of the support disk f is particularly advantageous because it enables you to adapt the press to the material properties, and because you can use one and the same press to prepare different materials.

The well-known working method of the press is as follows:
During the jerky rotation of the two disks a and f, each form b, which occurs under the opening e of the container li, is filled with material, the one from the

Form disc and thus the horizontal movement of the press ram. During this rotation, the compact remains in the highest position due to its friction on the mold walls, while the press ram is in its lowest position.
When the mold disk comes to a standstill, the lever head w lifts the punch until the compact is on the surface

has found its rest position, whereupon the table rotates again.
