High-voltage distributor for the ignition of multi-cylinder internal combustion engines.
In the case of multi-cylinder internal combustion engines, a special distributor is used to distribute the sparks emitted by the high-voltage coil of the ignition device in the correct order among the various cylinders. These distributors are generally overhung so that they can be easily removed in the axial direction. For structural reasons, however, it may be necessary to arrange the distributor not on the fly at the end of the shaft, but within the device itself. In this case, the accessibility of the distributor is extremely difficult. This is due to the fact that the stationary part with the outlets arranged one after the other in circumference always completely encloses a roller, drum or brush.
This disadvantage is completely eliminated by means of the high-voltage distributor according to the invention. The new device consists in the fact that the insulation piece surrounding the distribution roller and carrying outlets only in its upper part is divided and the part carrying the outlets can be lifted together with these in the radial direction without it being necessary to attach other parts of the device to it Purposes to dismantle.
The exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention shown in the drawing show how the discharge pieces can be arranged in one or more rows, depending on the number of cylinders.

attached next to each other in the upper part J1 of the housing consisting of the two parts i and J2 and can easily be lifted upwards from the distributor with part J1.
A substantial shortening of the distributor in the axial direction is achieved if the discharge pieces are arranged in two rows offset from one another by 900 instead of in a single one. The lead contacts K are accordingly offset by 180 ". An arrangement of this type is shown in FIG. 3 in longitudinal section. In FIG. 4 in cross-section, the corresponding parts being denoted by the same letters as in FIGS.
An arrangement of the distributor for six cylinders is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. The six discharge pieces A are arranged here in two rows offset from one another by 600, and the feed pieces K offset from one another by 1200.
The arrangement of the discharge pieces for six cylinders can also, as FIG. 7 shows, be done in such a way that three rows of two pieces lying next to one another are installed at a mutual angle of 600 each.
If it is a question of distributing the ignition sparks over 8 or 12 cylinders, the discharges can be arranged in two rows of four or in two rows of six in accordance with the exemplary embodiments described here. In all cases, the above-mentioned significant advantages of easy removal of the discharge pieces are achieved.
