Process for the production of artificial millstones.

The subject of the invention is the production of artificial millstones from emery, granite or quartz with magnesite and chloromagnesia as binders and a filler that permanently secures the porosity. According to the invention, crushed elderberry pulp is used as the porous filler, while sawdust and cork flour have previously been used for this purpose. Compared to these known fillers, elder marrow has the peculiarity that it detaches itself very easily from the enclosing wall. If, as a result of the wear and tear of the stone, a cavity filled with elder marrow is opened, the elderly marrow particle contained therein pops out as a whole.

This ensures the ability of the stone surface to be sharpened and the otherwise annoying smearing of the stone does not occur.
