Verfahren zur Herstellung raumbeständiger Magnesitsteine und-massen
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf raumbeständige
Magnesitsteine und-massen.

Process for the production of volumetric magnesite bricks and masses
The invention relates to space persistent
Magnesite bricks and masses. It is known that by adding metallic substances that form slag during the subsequent fire or in the furnace and compensate for the shrinkage of the magnesite due to the associated increase in volume, stones that are stable in volume are obtained from such masses.

Tests have shown that this admixture ensures excellent dimensional stability of the stones in particular when the addition is 1 to 10% by weight, preferably 2 to 5%, of 45 to 90% ferrosilicon, with its crown being 0 to 3 mm, preferably Must be 0-3 to 2 mm.

For example, a sintered magnesite with the following chemical composition: MgO over 82%, FeOg about 8%, SiO2 about 1 t%, CaO about 3% and normal grain size for the production of magnesite bricks, 4t wt .-% dry, ground 90% Ferrosilicon of the usual commercial quality in a grain size of 0 to 3 mm is added.

The material was thoroughly mixed as usual on a pan mill with relieved runners with the addition of sulphite waste liquor and water and then pressed hydraulically. After the ceramic stone firing, these stones showed an increase in volume of 0.5%, while stones without the addition of ferrosilicon, which were made from exactly the same sintered magnesite, the same grain size and after completely the same treatment, had a shrinkage of 2-8% by volume. exhibited.

After repeated and prolonged heating, the bricks made with ferrosilicon showed a very slight shrinkage to about their original size, while the normal magnesite bricks continued to shrink to a not inconsiderable extent.
