Description

Wind power machine to make use of high-altitude winds.

The subject matter of the invention relates to a wind power machine in which, for the generation of energy, transportable, height-adjustable force generators are used, which can be brought into a wind flow which is favorable for the generation of energy.

The study of the meteorological observation results shows that the annual mean of the wind strengths (wind speeds) increase with the distance from the earth's surface (sea level). Practical experience confirms these observation results. Both lead to the realization that if a very weak wind or no wind at all blows on the earth's surface. A significantly stronger air flow usually takes place above the same earth points. The purpose of the present invention is to utilize these high altitude winds, which are more favorable for generating power.

According to the invention, two or more tethered balloons or kites are used which are combined by means of a support frame to form a rigid whole, on which support frames the wind motors are attached in a corresponding manner in coupling with the electric generator. By raising the tethered balloons into those layers of air in which the most favorable air currents occur, the wind pressure prevailing there is absorbed by the wind motors concerned, converted into electrical energy in the dynamo, and this is conducted from the tethered balloons by means of a cable to a ground station below, where it is is stored in accumulator batteries or used directly for work.

In the drawing, an embodiment of a device according to the invention is shown schematically.

FIG. 1 shows a side view of the tethered balloons with the wind motor and the dynamo, FIG. 2 shows a front view and FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the same.

As can be seen from the drawing, a pair of dragon balloons a, a1 is preferably used, which is combined to form an as rigid whole as possible by means of corresponding light longitudinal and transverse supports b, bl and c, C1, C2, C3. On the cross members c, Cl'C2) C3 are bearings d, dl, à2. à3 attached for shafts e and ei, of which the latter ei a wind turbine or a wind turbine. f and the former e carries the dynamo g. The transmission of the movement from the wind turbine f to the dynamo is advantageously carried out by means of appropriate transmission gears, belt transmissions or the like.

The electrical energy generated by the dynamo g is conducted by means of a line cable (not shown) to a ground station located below and stored there in accumulators or used directly for work.

At the same time, several pairs of balloons (five or more) can be raised next to each other in groups in order to increase the amount of energy generated as much as possible.

Instead of a pair of balloons, a group of three or more balloons can be combined into a rigid whole and used with several wind turbines and dynamos mounted on them.

The tethered balloons are filled with hydrogen or helium. To ensure the safety of the balloon environment when filled with hydrogen, the collectors of the dynamo machines are wrapped in a Davy safety net.
