   Die Erfindung betrifft ein   Schweisspulver, welches   sich auch zum Schweissen von Schnelldrehstählen eignet, deren Schweissen einerseits infolge ihrer hohen Schweisstemperatur und andrerseits infolge ihres Gehaltes an bei der hohen Schweisstemperatur leicht oxydierbaren Metallen, wie insbesondere Chrom, Wolfram, Molydän usw. Schwierigkeiten bietet, da die an den Oberflächen entstandene, festhaftende und schwer schmelzbare Oxydschicht obiger Metalle auf eine Verschweissung hemmend wirkt.

   Diese eigenartige Mischung des stark reduzierenden und desoxydierenden Siliciumeisens, des   Metalloxyde gut aufschliessenden Carbonates   und der Metalloxyde gut auflösenden Phosphatoder   Silicat-Schlackenbildner ermöglicht es,   dass die zum Schweissen der Schnelldrehstähle erforderliche hohe Hitze angewendet und eine die Verschweissung hemmende Oxydschicht leicht entfernt werden kann. 



   Die Bestandteile werden in caleiniertem und fein zerkleinertem Zustande miteinander innig gemischt.

Selbstverständlich können die Gewichtsverhältnisse je nach dem Verwendungszweck und der erforderlichen Dünnflüssigkeit der Schlacke innerhalb gewisser Grenzen geändert werden, ohne die die Metalloberflächen reinigende und die Oxyde auflösende Wirkung wesentlich zu beeinträchtigen. 



   Dementsprechend können mit einem Schweissmittel gemäss vorliegender Erfindung nicht nur die schwer schweissbaren   Schelldrehstähle,   sondern auch alle sogenannten legierten Stähle, sowie auch die übrigen leichter und bei niedrigerer Temperatur schweissbaren Stahl-und Eisensorten, sowie Gusseisen in ähnlicher Weise, wie Schnelldrehstähle   geschweisst werden,   indem man z. B. das Schweissmittel zwischen die zu vereinigenden Flächen der auf Rotglut erhitzten   Stücke   streut und diese bei der entsprtchenden Schweisshitze durch Druck vereinigt.
