CARL FLOHR IN BERLIN.
Vacuum apparatus to generate the power for Vente.
The device shown in the accompanying drawings is intended for the control valves ven steam engines, pumps and the like., In short, wherever raised valves are to be closed suddenly. The same works in such a way that the piston seated on the valve rod a is suddenly pressed down by the external air pressure as soon as it is released due to the vacuum created under the piston when the valve is lifted. It is intended to prevent the valve from being put on the seat violently and noisily by the fact that the piston hits a supply of oil or another liquid in the vessel c at the moment the valve is put on

pressed.
The device described above, which does not form the subject of the invention, now shows in practice the drawback that with the sudden decline of the piston and in particular with valves with a relatively large opening height, more and more oil than permissible is pressed out. If this oil is not replaced with every stroke, there will soon be a shortfall under the liolbon; this no longer touches the oil layer when the valve closes, and the result is a violent beating of the \ 'entilos. This finding has led to the present invention. It consists of a device which replaces the loss of oil and thus the oil filling

Amount to replace the Öivettust.
It could also be a fine Hinno or several such a! s recesses are attached to the circumference of the flask, which filled up with each rise and release this content downwards or the like. In the drawing, a small valve t 'has been selected as an example, similar to valve d, but with the difference that it opens downwards. The required oil replacement is expediently taken from the sealing oil located above the piston, but if such a seal is not available, it can also be obtained from another oil supply.

is kept constant by the fact that any losses are permanently replaced by transferring smaller quantities of the sealing oil above the piston or another oil supply.
