Drueklllftbremse.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Air brake.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
An embodiment of the control valve is useful in which the small piston is loaded, for example by a spring F, in such a way that it can only exert a counterforce on the system controlling the air inlet or air outlet or both when the minimum pressure in the brake cylinder is reached, with this control member at the same time which controls the distribution element (e.g. valve V) regulating the rapid overflow during the injection.
The device consists essentially of the control valve St, a control chamber A, the brake air reservoir B, the brake cylinder Z, the minimum pressure device M and the main line L.
From the brake line L, compressed air flows on the one hand via channel d into the slide chamber b in front of the control piston K2 of the control valve St, from there via the throttle c into the control chamber A, but also via the backlash valve R into the brake air reservoir B. Through a line e the brake cylinder Z in the braking position of the control valve St via the slide cavity A in connection with the space D in front of the minimum pressure valve V, and subsequently also with the space G in front of the control piston j.
When the brake is released, the piston Kl keeps the minimum pressure valve V open by means of the minimum pressure spring F, so that at the start of braking, the air coming from the brake air reservoir B, in addition to the throttling g, also has a large cross section on the way via channel e, minimum pressure valve V, space G, channel jf to the brake cylinder, since in the braking position the channels e, a and t are connected to one another via the slide cavity h. In the release position of the control valve, the brake cylinder is connected to the outflow opening o via channel t and throttle g, through which the brake cylinder air can escape when released.
If the pressure in the brake line L is reduced in order to initiate braking, this pressure reduction propagates to the valve R, which, however, closes the brake air reservoir B from the line. The pressure reduction is also propagated via the channel cl to the chamber b in front of the piston K2, and since the air from the control chamber J. cannot flow in as quickly via the correspondingly small throttle e, it forms between the spaces A and b from a pressure difference which pushes the piston K2 together with the slide S into the braking position (to the left). As a result, the connection between brake cylinder Z, channel f, slide cavity 71, outflow opening 0 to the atmosphere is interrupted, and the brake air reservoir B is connected via channel e.
Minimum pressure valve V is connected to the brake cylinder via a large cross-section and via the throttling g channel t, which means that the pressure in this can initially rise rapidly, i.e. the injection necessary for the rapid application of the blocks is achieved. When this pressure is reached, the piston Kl overcomes the tension of the bullet spring F and moves to the right until it comes into contact with the push rod of the piston K2, i.e. H. so after overcoming the clearance between the pistons Kl and Dz, even after the full stroke of the piston K2, the minimum pressure valve V can sit on its seat so that the rapid overflow due to the large cross section, i.e. the rapid pressure increase in the brake cylinder, is interrupted and the further brake cylinder filling can only take place via throttling g.
The two pistons now remain in constant contact and form a differential piston system. The brake cylinder pressure now rises slowly in the further course of the braking process until a pressure in the brake cylinder corresponding to the line pressure drop - determined by the area ratio of pistons i and K2 - is reached. Then the piston system including the slide moves to the right until the flow from the Brpmsluftbel1older into the brake cylinder is interrupted.
In the existing brake systems, in which the brake cylinder pressure acts back on the distributor element from the moment it is developed, the low pressure difference existing at the beginning of the braking becomes that of the main line pressure or when the pressure drop in the brake line is slow
EMI2.1
the slower development of the line pressure reduction. Only when the line pressure has made further progress is the piston set shifted back into the braking position and the interrupted brake cylinder filling continued.
In contrast to this, as a result of the independence between the two pistons K1 and K2 at the start of braking, the first rapid pressure increase in the brake cylinder can develop without interruption, even with a slow line pressure drop.
2 shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in which the control member acted upon by the brake cylinder pressure is divided into two areas by sitting on a valve seat B when the brake is released and at the beginning of braking on the area acted upon by the brake cylinder pressure.
Until the minimum pressure in the brake cylinder is reached, only one part of the surface of the control element Ei, for example the inner one, is acted upon by the brake cylinder pressure, so that the level of the rapid pressure increase at the beginning of the braking (injection) is now dependent on the pressure caused by the valve seat limited surface of the control member i and the tension of the spring F results.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
If, after the start of braking, the pressure in the brake cylinder has risen so high that it produces an actuating force on the surface within the valve seat B which overcomes the tension of the spring F, so
EMI3.1
results.
This embodiment allows any part of the actuating force of the control element Kl to be used at the start of braking for back-up purposes on the distributor element 8, which prevents the first braking stage from being too large. Furthermore, the minimum pressure V is quickly terminated, as a result of which the first rapid pressure increase in the brake cylinder is sharply limited. The braking process also takes place as already described for FIG. 1.
