Legierung von Blei mit Natrium, Magnesium oder anderen Leiehtmetallen.
Bei Versuchen über Bleialkalilegierungen hat es sich gezeigt, dass ein geringer Zusatz von Quecksilber grosse technische Vorteile bietet. Der Vorteil des Quecksilbers liegt darin, dass die Herstellung der Bleialkalilegierungen unter Verwendung von Alkaliamalgam in vielen Fällen leichter ist. Besonders ist das Quecksilber aber deshalb als Zusatzmittel für Bleialkalilegierungen geeignet, weil es die Zähigkeit einerseits, andrerseits aber die Luftbeständigkeit dieser Legierungen erhöht. Die Legierungen sind also leichter herstellbar, leichter flüssig, schöner im Aussehen und leichter umschmelzbar.
Es bezieht sich dies auf die Legierungen von Blei mit Natrium, Magnesium oder anderen Leichtmetallen, einzeln oder zu mehreren vereinigt, welche Legierungen ausserdem noch Zinn, Kupfer und Kadmium, einzeln oder zu mehreren vereinigt, enthalten können, um je nach Wunsch die Leichtflüssigkeit, Härte und Zähigkeit zu erhöhen.
Beispiele : Eine brauchbare Legierung entsteht z. B. bei einem Natriumgehalt von 1% und einem Quecksilbergehalt von 7%. Eine andere Legierung kann beispielsweise durch einen weiteren Zusatz von 0-2% Kupfer erhalten werden.
Diese Legierungen sind geeignet zur Verwendung für reibende Maschinenteile, insbesondere als Lagerausgussmetall und Rohstoff für volle Lagerschalen. Die Legierungen können ferner

Tests on lead alkali alloys have shown that adding a small amount of mercury offers great technical advantages. The advantage of mercury is that the production of lead alkali alloys using alkali amalgam is easier in many cases. Mercury is particularly suitable as an additive for lead alkali alloys because it increases the toughness on the one hand and the air resistance of these alloys on the other. The alloys are therefore easier to produce, more easily liquid, more attractive in appearance and easier to remelt.
This refers to the alloys of lead with sodium, magnesium or other light metals, individually or in combination, which alloys can also contain tin, copper and cadmium, individually or in combination, in order to achieve the light fluidity, hardness, as desired and increase toughness.
