Process for the production of a leather preservative.

The subject matter of the present invention is a process for obtaining an agent for lubricating or impregnating leather, the properties and advantages of which result from the description and effect of the individual components.

The remedy is made up of six main parts, which are secondary to each other in importance: Ternolin (a repeatedly cooked tar), fish oil, wax, bone oil, the mixture of fat obtained from fish bodies from Switzerland and available commercially under the name of adhesion fat Unschlitt and horse fat and finally from dégras, which substances are known both on their own and combined with each other as leather & lubricants.

Ternolin pulls the leather together, despite the fact that it soaks into its pores; Fish oil makes the leather soft and supple; Wax, e.g. B. Viennese wax, beeswax, carnauba wax or its substitutes (e.g. ceresin, paraffin) hardens the leather by closing the pores soaked with ternolin; Bone oil, adhesive fat and dégras, mixed evenly, preserve the softness of the leather by preventing it from drying out.

 EMI1.2
The ingredients are mixed in the following manner and order: The fish oil (65 parts) is heated to the boiling point (recognizable by the pearl throwing), then Ternolin (30 parts) is added to the boiling fish oil and continue cooking until 15 G.-T. Have deposited waste on the ground. This precipitate is now removed by filtration and the boiling is continued, the wax (5 parts by weight) is added in a rubbed condition and cooked with constant stirring until the wax is completely distributed.

Now you can adjust the temperature (by 20 to 30 degrees)

stirred until the product looks oily and takes on color.
