Process for making a lanolin substitute.
The present invention relates to a process for the production of a substance which, in terms of properties and effect, corresponds to lanolin (purified wool fat) and, in particular, even surpasses the same in terms of its beneficial effect on human skin. For this purpose, according to the present invention, the Chinese wood oil is used, which shows the properties and effects mentioned. As a substitute for lanolin, wood oil, as it is supplied by nature, is not necessarily suitable because of the difference in its consistency compared to the consistency of lanolin. According to the method according to the present invention, it is achieved that the wood oil mass has the same consistency as the lanolin shows.
For this purpose, the wood oil is heated to around 2500-300 C., whereupon it takes on a thick consistency in a short time. This intermediate product is then mixed with liquid wood oil and a substance, e.g. B. Wax added to the whole

The product produced by the process described shows all the properties of lanolin. Like the latter, it is an ointment-like yellow mass that, like lanolin, can be mixed with water and remains completely homogeneous. When applied to the human skin, the new product penetrates it very quickly, whereby the

The noue product can be used to advantage for any other purpose for which lanolin was previously used.
