beispielsweise Sauerstoff, Kohlendioxyd usw.

Process for the preparation of glyoxal.
The invention relates to the production of glyoxal by the action of ozone on acetylene.
EMI1.1
Molecules acid. This reaction has not been followed up with acetylene, but only the information is found. that acetylene and ozone decompose extremely easily with an explosion. In any case, it was not known that the reaction between ozone and acetylene could be used to produce glyoxal.
It has been found that when ozone acts on gaseous acetylene, glyoxal is formed smoothly, and that the process can be carried out completely safely if the gases are in the appropriate Ve. affect each other thinning. Of course, one does not use concentrated ozone for the process, one uses ozonized air or ozonized oxygen and wherever ozone is mentioned in the description, it goes without saying that this also includes ozonized oxygen or ozonized air. The non-ozonated part of the air or the oxygen works in general
EMI1.2
for example oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc.
The gradual course of the reaction is particularly favored when the gases contain sufficient amounts of moisture, expediently as atomized water or in some other finely divided form. so that the glyoxal formed from the reaction space so

condensed.
If acetylene is used in a small excess and the gases are mixed well, the ozone is absorbed quantitatively and the glyoxal formed is deposited as a concentrated solution in the space in which the mutually reacting gases meet.
Experiments have shown that the process can be carried out successfully if, for example, 1-20% ozone, 3-4% acetylene and 96-94% air are allowed to act on one another at normal temperature. However, the invention is not limited to the above mixing ratios or to carrying out the reaction at ordinary temperatures, since the reaction also takes place under other ratios. s (not you change the content of the gas mixture and the temperature accordingly.
