Verfahren zur Herstellung von Kunstleder, insbesondere für Sohlenersatz.
Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines billigen Kunstleders, insbesondere für Sohlenlederersatz, welches gleiche Widerstandsfähigkeit und Wasserdichtheit wie Kernsohlenleder aufweist und dieselbe Verarbeitung und Verwendung wie letzteres zulässt.
Bekanntlich werden zur Herstellung von Kunstleder leichtere und minderwertigere Ledersorten, insbesondere Spaltleder, vorteilhaft Rindskernspaltleder, verwendet und wird das Verfahren aus diesen Ledersorten, ein Kunstleder, insbesondere für Sohlenlederersatz herzustellen, derart durchgeführt, dass mehrere Lagen von entsprechend zugeschnittenen Stücken von Spaltleder unter Verwendung eines wasserdichten Klebstoffes, d. i. in Alkohol oder Äther aufgelöstem Zelluloid miteinander verbunden und hierauf stark gepresst werden. Die erhaltenen Stücke werden sodann vorteilhaft mit einem wasserdichten Harzlack imprägniert.
Zufolge der äusserst porösen und schwammigen Struktur des Spaltleders dringen grosse Mengen des Klebestoffes in dasselbe ein und verliert dadurch das so hergestellte Kunstleder an Geschmeidigkeit.
Dieser Nachteil wird durch die gegenständliche Erfindung dadurch behoben, dass das Spaltleder vor seiner Verwendung zur Herstellung von Kunstleder, insbesondere für Sohlen- lederersatz, gepresst. gewalkt oder in einem in der Appretur bekannten Klopfwolf bearbeitet wird. Dadurch wird das Spaltleder verdichtet und eine Schliessung der Poren bewirkt, so dass der aus einer Zelluloidlösung bestehende Klebstoff in das Spaltleder nur sehr wenig eindringen kann und dasselbe trotz des Zusammenkleben seine Geschmeidigkeit behält. welche auch dem Endprodukt innewohnen bleibt.
Das Pressen, Walken bzw. die Bearbeitung des Spaltleders in einem Klopfwolf kann in trockenem oder feuchtem Zustande erfolgen.

The subject matter of the invention is a method for producing an inexpensive synthetic leather, in particular for sole leather replacement, which has the same resistance and waterproofness as core sole leather and allows the same processing and use as the latter.
It is known that for the production of artificial leather, lighter and inferior types of leather, in particular split leather, advantageously cowhide split leather, are used and the process is carried out from these types of leather to produce an artificial leather, especially for sole leather replacement, in such a way that several layers of appropriately cut pieces of split leather using a waterproof Adhesive, d. i. celluloid dissolved in alcohol or ether are bound together and then strongly pressed. The pieces obtained are then advantageously impregnated with a waterproof resin varnish.
As a result of the extremely porous and spongy structure of the split leather, large quantities of the adhesive penetrate into it and the artificial leather thus produced loses its suppleness.
This disadvantage is eliminated by the present invention in that the split leather is pressed before it is used for the production of artificial leather, in particular for sole leather replacement. milled or processed in a knocking grinder known in the finishing process. This compresses the split leather and closes the pores, so that the adhesive consisting of a celluloid solution can only penetrate very little into the split leather and the latter retains its flexibility despite being glued together. which also remains inherent in the end product.
