 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

The subject matter of the present invention is a wrap gaiter which differs significantly and advantageously from the known objects of the same type in that it has a very long shelf life and conforms perfectly to the shape of the calves.

There are already known wrap gaiters which consist of fabrics which are cut into strips of the required width, several of which are strung together if necessary. These wrap gaiters have the disadvantage that they have no solid edges and are therefore not very durable; their seat is also by no means perfect.

There are also known wrap gaiters, which consist of ribbons that are woven in the correct width. These gaiters, too, by no means meet all of the demands placed on them and, above all, show the drawback that they quickly become bell-shaped when in use and then no longer sit properly.

According to the present invention, these inconveniences of the known wrap gaiters are avoided in that the bands serving as gaiters are immediately woven in the correct width and given away with an edge that is not formed by closing wheels, as is generally customary, but by the warp threads that be drawn into the fabric by the weft threads. In the drawing, a means the feed chain {ll1-

the edge of each two wefts of the draw-in chain thread is drawn in once. This creates an edge that stands out slightly from the base fabric, which, due to its loose binding, gives the elastic thread more opportunity to enter.

The bell-ringing of the edge, which occurs regularly and is felt to be very uncomfortable, is therefore absolutely reliably avoided with the usual wrap gaiters and thus the whole
