Description

Gear, especially for high-speed and noiseless gears.

For gears with a high number of revolutions in order to achieve a silent gear instead of Eisenznhnrí1. where already those made of rawhide, fiber, cotton etc. also made of paper are used, but they all have the disadvantage that over time, due to the harmful effects of lubrication, moisture and heat, wear and tear and, in particular, signs of aging, stc rapidly increasingly worse and thereby cause operational disruptions as well as operating and material costs.

On the other hand, the use of the resinous condensation products of phenols and formaldehyde for certain mechanical purposes has already been proposed.

So was z. B. the use of a mass consisting of a mixture of paper pulp fibers and the aforementioned condensation products as a material for mechanical apparatus, furthermore the use of paper sheets impregnated with these condensation products as a sealant (stuffing box packing) proposed; Finally, it also became known to use a mass of these condensation products, which metal or graphite was incorporated, as an anti-friction material to reduce the friction on sliding surfaces
Divide to apply.

The present invention is based on the knowledge that the property of the synthetic resinous intermediate product of the condensation of phenols and formaldehyde is that it becomes harder and harder due to heat and pressure or the action of time, especially for gears, especially in cases of high revolutions where the iron

very significant savings in operating costs can be made possible.

Accordingly, the subject matter of the invention is gearwheels consisting of sheets of paper coated with phenol-aldehyde condensation products and combined in a press by pressure and heat. These gears are expediently provided with disks attached on both sides, e.g. B. made of wrought iron.

be executed in different \ Velse.

According to the invention, an advantageous embodiment of the method consists in

used paper that is baked for a longer or shorter period of time, whereby it is advantageous to ensure that the baking is not carried out until the end product of the condensation has formed completely. The teeth are milled out of the plates obtained in this way in a known manner.
