Verfahren zum Fetten von Leder, insbesondere vegetabilischem Leder.
Es wurde gefunden, dass sulfarierte Öle, sofern sie frei von Seife sind, sich in hervorragendem Masse zum Fetten der verschiedensten Ledersorten eignen, da sie jedes Leder weicher und voller machen. Diese Vorzüge treten insbesondere beim vegetabilischen Leder hervor.
Das Fetten oder Ölen der Ledersorten kann entweder vor. während oder nach der Gerbung geschehen, indem man das Öl in Wasser löst und die Blössen oder die Leder im Wa) kfass mit der Öllösung behandelt. Man kann das Öl aber auch als solches oder mit wenig Wasser gemischt in das fertige Leder einreiben.
Geeignet sind alle Arten von sutfunerten Ö ! ea und Fetten bzw. Mischungen von solchen mit unveränderten Ölen oder Fetten, wenn sie nur mit Wasser eine Öllösung geben. Wesentlich ist nur, dass die Seifen auf irgend welche Art entfernt werden, sei es nun durch Dialyse oder auf chemischem Wege. Selbstverständlich würde sich ein sulfuriertes Öl, das von vornherein keine Seife enthält, erst recht eignen : doch ist bis jetzt

It has been found that sulfated oils, as long as they are free from soap, are outstandingly suitable for greasing various types of leather, since they make all types of leather softer and fuller. These advantages are particularly evident in vegetable leather.
The greasing or oiling of the leather types can either be done before. done during or after tanning by dissolving the oil in water and treating the pelts or leathers in the barrel with the oil solution. The oil can also be rubbed into the finished leather as such or mixed with a little water.
