EMI1.1
schädigen oft mehr als der Graphit selbst. Er färbt bekanntlich selbst ab, haftet somit leicht an anderen Körpern an, was beim Maschinenschrrieren durchaus keinen Vorteil bedeutet.

Process for the production of a machine lubricant for the substantial reduction of the overheating and seizure of rotating machine parts.
A major problem with machine operation since then has been that the overheating and seizure of the metal parts, despite the oil and grease lubrication, led to rough wear and tear on the metal parts. Through multiple trials it was found that rubbing with calcined, i.e. H. pure, anhydrous soot with mineral oils and other greases provides an excellent lubricant through which this deficiency is significantly reduced and a high level of smoothness of the metal parts is achieved. It has already been proposed to use mineral oils mixed with graphite as lubricants, but this is by no means perfect.
Graphite is a mineral with a crystalline structure and therefore already causes a certain amount of friction, which attacks the metal parts and heats them up more than is desirable
EMI1.1
often damage more than the graphite itself. It is well known that it stains itself and thus easily adheres to other bodies, which is by no means an advantage when it comes to machine scraping.
Carbon in the form of calcined soot is not crystalline, but in the finest, flaky distribution, which prevents friction and attacking the metal parts. Through the calcination of the soot, foreign admixtures are excreted, also burned to carbon, even parts of water removed. There are no mineral admixtures. The specific weight of graphite is 2. 25, but only l'5ï for carbon black. It is well known that graphite conducts heat and electricity very well, whereas calcined soot is a poor conductor of heat and electricity. The consequence of this is that mineral oil,
EMI1.2
and grease or prolonged running of the metal parts can occur; Graphite by no means.
In addition, soot is a decidedly non-rotten body, which graphite does not have any excellent properties.
To make the lubricant, mineral oil, etc., is thoroughly rubbed with calcined soot. You take mineral oil for every 100 parts, depending on the size and friction
EMI1.3
Other oils, greases and resins commonly used in the manufacture of lubricants can also be used.
