So löst man z.

It is of course desirable to introduce as few useless or harmful ions as possible into the wood, which is why they can be precipitated beforehand by double conversion and precipitation from concentrated solution. How to solve z. B. 7'5 parts by weight of aluminum sulfate and 10 parts by weight of calcium dichromate in water and removes the insoluble sulphate of lime that falls out. Or 45 parts by weight of copper sulphate and 55 parts by weight of potassium dichromate are dissolved in a little water and the potassium sulphate which precipitates is separated off. Of course, in both cases the harmful salts are not completely removed.

Tests have shown that the best results are obtained when using bischromate, copper dichromate, a mixture of these salts and chromic acid alone.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Method for impregnating or painting wood, cardboard, fabrics and the like.

Materials against putrefaction using solutions on the one hand of the bichromates and chromates of alkalis, ammonia and alkaline earths, on the other hand of the salts of copper, cerium, zinc, aluminum, chromium (oxide), manganese and iron (oxide), characterized in that one or more bodies of the first group can be used together with one or more bodies of the second group in a solution which reacts acidic to at most neutral (i.e. without the addition of excess alkali), which avoids the formation of basic precipitates and the formation of difficult-to-dissolve precipitates basic chromate is only effected in wood and the like (e.g. 1% vitriol with 1% potassium dichromate or 0'44% potassium

The method according to claim 1, characterized in that any mixtures of the listed solutions with the listed soluble chromates are used. EMI3.2 Hydroxides. Oxides or carbonates of the seven metals listed and any mixtures thereof on the one hand, and chromic acid on the other hand, can be brought into solution. 5. 5. The method according to claim 1 and 4, characterized in that specifically a mixture of soluble copper and cerium chromate is used. 6. 6. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that basic chromates of said metals are first precipitated and the precipitate is then removed again by further added chromic acid.
