Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Agents for holding metal coatings on ceramic surfaces.
EMI1.1
ceramic and similar surfaces, such as porcelain, glass, terracotta, earthenware and the like, which consists of a mixture of linseed oil, turpentine oil and resin as a binder and graphite as a conduit. In order to make graphite usable for making ceramic surfaces conductive, it first had to be converted into so-called gold graphite by treatment with chlorine gold according to the previous application methods. This made the process lengthy and, due to the use of gold, also expensive.
According to the invention, it is possible to use a finely slurried graphite as such without any pre-treatment to make ceramic surfaces conductive, simply by intimately mixing it with ivory black and a binder made from the above substances.
EMI1.2
Intimately mixed together on a paint jar until the mass is spreadable, so that it can be applied to the ceramic surface with a brush or the like. After this application has become air-dry, the object coated with it is heated to approximately 80 ° C. in an enamel oven. After cooling, the objects coated in this way are polished to a high gloss, which is best done with a rapidly rotating fiber brush,
