Wooden slats covered with metal or the like.
The invention relates to hollow or solid or stiffened wooden strips of all kinds with a metal coating which, for. B. for greenhouses, shop windows or the like. Application.
Compared to the known wooden strips of this type covered with metal, the present wooden strip differs in that a wide metal strip consisting of several interconnected narrow metal strips is used for the outer covering of the latter. As a result, a perfect covering of the wooden strip or a favorable distribution of the tension occurring in the bands and a smooth pulling of the bands is achieved.
If the wooden strips are made hollow, which can be achieved by arranging one or more perforations, the strips can be given increased strength with metal inserts or greater resistance through inserts or fillings of wood impregnating or preserving materials.
In the accompanying drawing, such a metal-coated wooden strip is illustrated in more detail in some exemplary embodiments, namely: FIGS. 1 to 3 show solid wooden strips in different profiles, which have an outer covering consisting of several metal strips, FIG Changing clothes and with several

Wooden strip consisting of several parts with metal lining.
The hollow core a of the strip made of wood or similar material, which is solid or stiffened by inserts or fillings of any kind, is provided with a metal cladding b. This outer sheathing b does not consist of a single shaped metal band, as was previously the case, but of a wide metal band composed of several narrow metal strips connected to one another on the longitudinal sides. The connection of the individual metal strips to one another can be effected before, during or after the sheathing of the wooden cores by folding the edges of the metal strips into one another, as indicated at the points at c.
Depending on the particular use of the covered wooden strip, the covering can either consist of strips of the same material or strips of different materials. The latter version asked for the preference of cheapness, since the parts of the bar facing away from the eye can be covered with bands of a less valuable material.
As illustrated by FIG. 3, the metal casing can also consist of several layers

PATENT APPROACHED: l. Wooden strip or the like covered with metal, characterized in that the outer casing of the strip consists of several narrow metal strips which are connected by folding.
