Device for controlling the access3 of the combustion air to the boiler of low-pressure steam heating systems.
When using the known devices for regulating the access of the combustion air to the boiler of low-pressure steam heaters and boilers that serve similar purposes, such as. B. that of the production of hot water, the expansion pipe used for regulation has been immersed quite deeply into the liquid to be heated, because otherwise the effect of such pipes would not be satisfactory. However, the use of a relatively long immersion limb led, to which no attention has been paid to date, to a certain clumsiness in the operation of the control device.
The great heat absorption capacity of liquids, especially water, allowed a change in dpi, the state of the low-boiling substance in the expansion tube, to take place only excessively slowly. If, on the other hand, this tube is brought completely or almost completely out of contact with the water by shortening the immersion leg, then the intended regulation is adversely affected in a similar sense.
According to the invention, a remedy is provided by shortening the exchange leg, but not placing it entirely outside the area of influence of the boiling liquid and at the same time artificially increasing the area of the pipe exposed to the action of the vapors.
This can be done, for example, by forming a steam space in the interior of the pipe which is connected to the boiler space. It is also very recommendable to form this space on the outside of the immersion leg in such a way that it extends to the outside of the boiler. In all these cases, the control device responds so easily that controllers of this type can also be used where they were previously excluded because of their low reliability, such as. B. in kettles for cookshops, in brewing and similar devices.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a device of the first type in a partially sectioned side view and FIG. 2 shows the part of an expansion pipe of the second type which is essential for the invention. FIG. 3 is a view showing the arrangement of the regulator.
The expansion tube o (Fig. 1) has a very short immersion leg b, to which the screw connection c is tightly fastened in the ugly manner. In the interior of the immersion lever, a vapor space d is formed by a sleeve f provided with a base e. which is tightly connected to the testicle y of the expansion leg.
The steam chamber d is therefore connected to the boiler room, so that the steam extends its effect deep into the expansion pipe.
In the embodiment according to FIG. A, the screw connection c is tightly connected to a tube piece h which tapers at the top and which sits on the expansion tube a.
Between the two there is a steam room connected to the boiler room (/ phase design has a certain advantage over the embodiment treated in FIG. 1 in that it is not only easier and cheaper to manufacture and, in particular, has a greater durability ) also the use of the usual expansion pipes so also old ones, d. H. pipes that are already in use are permitted, in which the immersion leg is shortened accordingly, if necessary.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A device for regulating the access of the combustion air to the boiler of low-pressure steam heating systems, with an expansion pipe dipping into the boiler and containing a low-boiling substance, characterized in that the immersion leg (b) around this pipe or in the same one with the boiler room should be shortened as far as possible communicating cavity (d) is formed.
