Water separator for low pressure steam heating.
The present invention relates to a water separator for low-pressure steam heating systems, in which the speed of the steam in the lines does not exceed a certain level, so that condensation water is not carried away with it into the line behind. For systems with a higher steam speed due to a slightly higher voltage, care must be taken that on the one hand the nozzle effect is greater so that not part of the steam escapes with the condensation water, and on the other hand that the steam in condensation water torn over the connection line can flow away.
The subject matter of the invention is now a water separator in which such inconveniences are avoided in that the steam outflow opening is connected to the water outflow opening through a channel. In the drawing, the water separator according to the present invention is shown in a longitudinal section.
The water separator consists of a housing 11 with a centrally arranged nozzle 12 and a downwardly directed outflow opening 13. The housing 11 also contains a collecting nozzle 16 and a channel 17. The nozzle 12 is in connection with the inflow opening 14. The mouthpiece designed as a collecting nozzle 16 is directed towards the outflow opening 15. The channel 17 connects the outflow opening 15 with the outflow opening 13 and the interior of the housing 11.
The steam passes from the inflow opening 14 into the nozzle 12 and its speed is accelerated here by the constriction of the nozzle. It enters the collecting nozzle 16 and through the outlet opening 15 into the adjoining line. The water that is partially entrained as a result of the steam speed from the outlet 12 into the collecting nozzle 16 is deposited here and flows through the inclined channel 17 to the drain opening 13.
If the channel 17 is not completely filled by the entrained water together with the condensation water that forms, so that a certain amount of steam also flows through it, this is sucked in again by the suction effect occurring between the nozzle 12 and the nozzle 16, while the condensation water as a result its heaviness flows away.
