they are in their position during the milling work, whereby an axial displacement of the spindle a is prevented by the clamping sleeve y.
The clamping sleeve y is released for boring work in which the spindle has to move axially. If the head x is a hindrance during special work, it can simply be removed. If, for example, the rotation takes place in one sense, the female liner u comes into contact with the flange of the wedge bushing 9 and tries to move it so that the coupling teeth i can enter the corresponding recess in the wedge bushing 9. In order to allow a shift, the flanges of the nut sleeves u and m must release the ball bearing laterally.
For this purpose, these two bushings are equipped with right-hand and left-hand threads, so that when the threaded bushes n are rotated, the two bushings m and u move apart and completely release the ball bearing in the axial direction. Bolts q are arranged in the fixed washer so that the nut bushings m and u do not turn when the threaded bushes n are turned. When the threaded bushing n is rotated in the manner described above, the wedge bushing 9 is displaced and the same is coupled to the outer drive sleeve b.
A rotation of the threaded bushing n in the other direction causes a displacement of the two nut bushings m and u, namely with the different selected pitch heights, in such a way that the bushing u immediately comes to rest and takes the ball bearing with it, which on the other hand also takes the wedge bushing g and out the coupling layer is pulled out.
The threaded bushing is rotated until the ball bearing is firmly clamped between the two flanges of the nut bushings m and u. In this position, the slight frictional moments that may occur in the axial direction are absorbed by the ball bearing itself.
