Apparatus for cleaning the outer wall of ships.

The invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning the outer wall of ships, which is suspended from two ropes (chains) on a crane or the like and equipped with a propeller to enable the brushes to be pressed against the ship's wall when cleaning the ship's wall below the waterline .

After the waterline sinks when a ship is unloaded, it is necessary to clean the part of the ship's wall that is above the waterline. The invention relates to special means to enable the apparatus to be pressed against the ship's wall in this case too, since the propellers cannot press the apparatus outside the waterline.

Essentially, the invention consists in the fact that the suspension points of the apparatus are displaceable in the pressure direction, whereby such a suspension is made possible that a force effective in the pressure direction is created which causes the apparatus to be pressed against the ship's wall. For this purpose, the suspension points of the two ropes are on opposite sides and at different distances from the center of gravity of the apparatus.

The drawing shows a schematic representation of the subject matter of the invention. a is the casing of the apparatus, b are the brushes, and c is the propeller. al are the
