Es ist bekannt, dass Wasser-und Dampfturbinen bei plötzlicher Belastung einer weit über dem Normalen liegenden Tourenzahl zustreben. Es wird deshalb die Forderung gestellt, dass Maschinen, die von Turbinen angetrieben werden, diese Tourenerhöhung ohne Schaden aushalten können. Diese Forderung bedingt häufig die Verwendung von Sonderkonstruktionen und von hochwertigem Konstruktionsmaterial, wodurch die Maschinen erheblich verteuert werden.
Um das Mitlaufen der Maschine über eine bestimmte Umdrehungszahl der Turbine hinaus zu verhindern, kann eine selbsttätige Entkupplungsvorrichtung, welche zweckmässig durch Zentrifugalkräfte betätigt wird, vorgesehen werden.
Bekannt sind derartige Vorrichtungen bei mechanischen Kupplungen. Gemäss der Erfindung wird nun der Erregerstrom der magnetischen Kupplung bei Überschreitung der zulässigen Umdrehungszahl unterbrochen, z. B. durch einen Zentrilugalschalter, welcher durch die Zentrifugalkraft gegen die Wirkung einer Feder betätigt wird. Der Vorteil dieser Erfindung besteht darin, dass auch bei den grössten zu übertragenden Kräften und entsprechend grossen Kupplungen nur kleine Schwungmassen zur Erzeugung der Unterbrechungsenergie nötig sind.

It is known that water and steam turbines tend towards a number of revolutions that is far above normal when suddenly loaded. There is therefore a requirement that machines that are driven by turbines can withstand this increase in speed without damage. This requirement often requires the use of special constructions and high-quality construction material, which makes the machines considerably more expensive.
In order to prevent the machine from running beyond a certain number of revolutions of the turbine, an automatic decoupling device, which is expediently actuated by centrifugal forces, can be provided.
Such devices are known for mechanical clutches. According to the invention, the excitation current of the magnetic clutch is now interrupted when the permissible number of revolutions is exceeded, e.g. B. by a Zentrilugalschalter which is operated by the centrifugal force against the action of a spring. The advantage of this invention is that, even with the greatest forces to be transmitted and correspondingly large clutches, only small centrifugal masses are required to generate the interruption energy.
