  Laufmantel für Luftreifen. 



   Bei den Laufmänteln für die Luftreifen von Motorrädern oder Automobilen hat es bisher dem Laien immer Schwierigkeiten gemacht, mit einiger Sicherheit den Zeitpunkt festzustellen, in welchem die eigentliche Laufdecke so weit abgenutzt war, dass man sie erneuern musste, wobei es im besonderen darauf ankam, den totalen Verschleiss des Reifens zu verhüten. 



   Nach der vorliegenden Erfindung lässt sich der Grad der Abnutzung in der Weise ohne Schwierigkeiten feststellen, dass man in die Laufdecko in geeigneter Tiefe eine Einlage einbettet, die die Grenze der zulässigen Abnutzung der Lauffläche darstellt. Diese Markierung wird am besten in der Weise vorgenommen, dass man eine farbige Einlage aus Gummi, Gewebe oder dgl. unter der Lauffläche anbringt. Sobald infolge der Abnutzung der Lauffläche diese farbige Markierung hervortritt, weiss der Fahrer, dass es Zeit ist, die   L3ufdecke   abzunehmen und durch eine neue zu ersetzen. 



   Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht die neue Anordnung an einem Schnitt durch einen Reifenmantel. a ist der Laufteil der wie   üblich   aus verschiedenen Schichten   Zusammengesetzte   Teil der eigentlichen Decke ; an der Stelle, wo die beiden Teile zusammenstossen oder in der Nähe davon ist die farbige Einlage c eingebettet.

   In the case of the treads for the pneumatic tires of motorcycles or automobiles, it has always been difficult for the layman to determine with a certain degree of certainty the point in time at which the actual tread was worn so far that it had to be replaced, whereby it was particularly important that to prevent total wear of the tire.



   According to the present invention, the degree of wear can be determined without difficulty in such a way that an insert is embedded in the running deck at a suitable depth which represents the limit of the permissible wear of the tread. This marking is best done by placing a colored insert made of rubber, fabric or the like under the tread. As soon as this colored marking appears due to the wear and tear of the tread, the driver knows that it is time to remove the air cover and replace it with a new one.



   The drawing illustrates the new arrangement on a section through a tire casing. a is the running part the part of the actual ceiling, which is composed of different layers as usual; the colored insert c is embedded at the point where the two parts meet or in the vicinity thereof.
