Verfahren zur Reinigung von Zuckerroheaft.
Im Patente Nr. 53270 ist ein Verfahren zur Reinigung von Zuckerrohsaft beschrieben, dessen Wesen darin besteht, dass dem eventuell durch Ätzkalk alkalisch gemachten, auf zirka 700 C vorgewärmten Rohsaft nebst gebranntem oder gelöschtem Kalk natürlicher, kohlensaurer Kalk unter innigem Rühren beigemischt wird, worauf der verbleibende Ätzkalküberschuss aussaturiort und gemeinsam mit dem zugesetzten kohlensauren Kalk abfiltriert wird.
Es hat sich nun herausgestellt, dass eine noch weitergehende Reinigung der Säfte und weitere Ersparnis an Ätzkalk erzielt wird, wenn man das Kalksteinmehl bereits in der Diffusion zusetzt. Hiebei erfolgt eine Ausfällung von Nichtzuckerstoffen, welche un-

In der Rübenverarbeitung wird am zweckmässigsten das Kalksteinmehl den Schnitten auf dem Transportgut zugesetzt oder gleichmässig mit den Schnitten in den Diffuseur zugeführt. Die Menge des Zusatzes an Kalksteinmehl richtet sich nach der Azidität des Saftes, so zwar, dass der Saft noch eine schwache Azidität behält. Die Weiterbehandlung des Saftes erfolgt entweder mit Ätzkalt oder vorteilhafter mit Ätzkali. und Kalksteinpulver in der im Patente Nr. 53270 geschilderten Weise.
