Beim Giessen von Röhren in Metallformen entsteht infolge des starken Schwinden leicht ein Reissen der Gussstllcke, so dass es bisher nicht möglich ist, gegen Verschleiss widerstandsfähige Röhren aus Hartguss, beispielsweise für den Spülversatz, herzustellen. Man hat versucht, die Nachteile durch Verwendung längsgeteilter, mit brennbaren Einlagen versehener Kerne zu beseitigen. Nach der Erfindung werden dagegen an den einander zugewandten Seiten der Kernteile Aussparungen zur Aufnahme von Hilfskernen aus Sand oder einer anderen zusammendrückbaren Masse angebracht. Durch die Hilfskerne wird eine gute Nachgiebigkeit des Kerns erzielt und das Eindringen des Eisens in die Fugen verhindert.
Der Kern kann somit, obgleich er die zur Erzeugung des Hartgusses notwendige gute Wärmeableitung sichert, der zusammenziehenden Wirkung des erkaltenden Gussstückes nachgeben, so dass das Reissen verhindert wird.
In der Zeichnung ist eine Ausführungsbeispiel des Kernes in einer Gussform in Längsschnitt und Querschnitt dargestellt.

When casting tubes in metal molds, the strong shrinkage easily causes the cast pieces to tear, so that it has not previously been possible to manufacture tubes made of hard cast iron that are resistant to wear, for example for flushing. Attempts have been made to eliminate the disadvantages by using longitudinally divided cores provided with combustible inlays. According to the invention, however, recesses for receiving auxiliary cores made of sand or another compressible mass are attached to the mutually facing sides of the core parts. The auxiliary cores achieve a good resilience of the core and prevent the iron from penetrating the joints.
The core can thus, although it ensures the good heat dissipation necessary for the production of the hard casting, yield to the contracting effect of the cooling casting, so that tearing is prevented.
