Es wurde nun gefunden, dass die vollkommene Sulfierung diese Vorbehandlung des Gemisches mit Wärme nicht erfordert, sofern man nur die Einwirkungsdauer der Schwefelsäure entsprechend verlängert. Durch den Fortfall der Vorbehandlung wird die Fabrikation erleichtert, indem die lästige Überwachung, welche die Erwärmung des Gemisches erheischt, entfällt ; andererseits wird der Brennstoffaufwand beseitigt und die Apparatur vereinfacht, technische Vorteile, denen gegenüber der etwas grössere Zeitaufwand nicht in Betracht kommt.
Das Gemisch aus Oxyfettsäure bzw. Oxyfettsäureverbindung und Rizinusöl oder anderen fetten Ölen oder Fetten wird also bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur hergestellt und ohneweiters in der bei der Türkiscbrotölfabrikatlon üblichen Weise mit Schwefelsäure sulfiert. Man lässt die Schwefelsäure solange wirken, bis eine Probe unter Zusatz von etwas Alkali sich in heissem kalkhaltigem Brunnenwasser klar und ohne Ausscheidung von Kalkseife löst, worauf man, wie in der Stammpatentschrift beschrieben, weiter verfährt.

It has now been found that complete sulfonation does not require this pretreatment of the mixture with heat, provided that the duration of action of the sulfuric acid is extended accordingly. Since the pretreatment is no longer required, manufacture is made easier by the annoying monitoring which requires the mixture to be heated; on the other hand, the cost of fuel is eliminated and the apparatus simplified, technical advantages over which the somewhat greater expenditure of time is not an option.
The mixture of oxyfatty acid or oxyfatty acid compound and castor oil or other fatty oils or fats is thus produced at normal temperature and sulfated with sulfuric acid in the usual way with turquoise bread oil manufacture. The sulfuric acid is allowed to act until a sample with the addition of a little alkali dissolves in hot, calcareous well water clearly and without the separation of lime soap, after which the procedure is continued as described in the parent patent specification.
