Es wurde gefunden, daß bei der Behandlung von Thiodiglykol mit aliphatischen Al- dehyden mit oder ohne Verwendung von Kondensationsmitteln neue wertvolle Verbindungen hergestellt werden können, die sich von den Ausgangsmaterialien dadurch unterscheiden, daß sie aus ihren wäßrigen Lösungen ausgesalzen werden können. Sie sind beständig in der Kälte und sind mehrfacher technischer Verwendung zugänglich, so z. B. als Lösungs- bzw. Quellungs- oder Weichmachungsmittel für Celluloseester, Harze usw. Über die Konstitution dieser Verbindungen ist zur Zeit noch nichts zu sagen. Im allgemeinen spalten sie bei höherer Temperatur leicht Aldehyd ab. Durch die Abspaltung des Aldehyds unterscheiden die neuen Verbindungen sich grundsätzlich von den im Chern. Zentralblatt 1899 1.
