Als Aus- und Einrückbewegung zum Zwecke der Aufnahme des Einstellwerte von der Kurvenscheibe k kann ebenfalls eine Verschiebung des Rades b auf seiner Welle oder eine Verschwenkung nach der in Fig. 4 dargestellten Art dienen ; im letzteren Falle kann die Welle in einem schwenkbaren Rahmen gelagert werden (Fig. 6). Auch kann man diesen Rahmen selbst verschiebbar machen (Fig. 7 und 8), wodurch die lange Welle entbehrlich wird.
Um lange Wege zu vermeiden, kann man auch jedes Rad b zweimal ausführen und die Räder b, bl (Fig. 9) abwechselnd in die Zähnungen der Kurvenscheiben kund k1 einrücken.
Man kann auch beide Räder b, 1} dauernd mit den Zahnungen der Kurvenscheiben k, kl in Eingriff lassen (abgesehen natürlich von der Ausrückung, die gemäss Fig. 4 zur Aufnahme des eingestellten Wertes erforderlich ist) und eine Kupplung beliebiger Art anbringen, die immer nur eins der beiden Räder mit der Welle kuppelt. Ein solches Beispiel zeigt Fig. 10, wo die Welle in den Rädern verschiebbar angenommen ist.
Fig. 11 zeigt noch eine Ausführungsform, bei der das Rad b fest auf seiner Welle sitzt. die bei Ausrückung des Rades b mit der Welle des Rades bl (oder mit diesem Rade selbst) gekuppelt wird.
