Vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf Maschinen zum Beschneiden von Büchern und bezweckt die Erzielung einer fortwährenden Schneidwirkung und eines vollkommen sauberen
Schnittes. Bei einer Maschine dieser Art findet als Schneidwerkzeug ein endloses Band- messer Verwendung, das zur Erzeugenden oder Schnittlinie geneigt angeordnet ist.
Eine Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist beispielsweise auf der Zeichnung ver- anschaulicht, welche einen senkrechten Längsschnitt durch die Maschine zeigt.
Die Maschine zum Beschneiden von Büchern ist mit einem über (nicht dargestellte)
Rollen laufenden Bandmesser a ausgerüstet. Dieses Bandmesser a ist geneigt zu der Führung b angebracht, in der die zwischen Klemmbacken d eingespannten und vom Vorderende der Maschine her eingeführten Bücher c durch Vermittlung von mit Mitnehmern f versehenen endlosen Förderketten e oder dgl. an dem Bandmesser a vorbeibewegt und somit fortwährend beschnitten werden.
Infolge seiner zur Erzeugenden geneigten Anordnung kann das Bandmesser a, wie dargestellt, zwischen den Backen g geführt werden, wobei das Nachschleifen der Schneid- kante nur auf der Laufseite des Bandmessers während der Bewegung des letzteren erfolgt.
