Wenn nun der Bohrer den Schachtgrund erreicht, so geht das Seil infolge des Gewichtes von d und f weiter herab, wodurch die Zapfen 11 verdreht werden, so dass durch die Wirkung der Schrauben die vier Klötze nach aussen geschraubt werden, da sie selbst gegen Verdrehung durch die Aussparungen in der Wand D verhindert sind.
Es geht nun das Gestänge d abwärts, bis die Klötze gegen die Innenfläche des Schachtrohres stossen ; infolge des Gewichtes. f haften sie hier fest und das ganze System kommt in die gekuppelte Stellung.
