<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Grease conveying lubrication pump.
The invention relates to a grease-conveying lubrication pump on which a conveyor screw operated by the pump drive or a conveyor vane revolves in a storage container seated on the pump housing. In order to be able to remove the pump system from such lubricating pumps without having to empty the reservoir, according to the invention the pump system is pushed as a coherent whole laterally into the pump housing so that the axis of the drive shaft of the screw conveyor runs perpendicular to the axis of the pump shaft.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in longitudinal section.

pictorial representation of the screw conveyor with the arm attached to it. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the screw shown in Fig. 2 including the arm, the dash-dotted lines indicating a development of the arm.
The pump system b arranged on a cover a is inserted laterally into a housing c as a group that is assembled on its own. The drive of the pumps is initiated by a shaft d and transmitted via a helical gear mechanism e and f to a shaft g which is mounted on the housing wall opposite the cover a. From the shaft g that forms part of the pump shaft, the drive is passed on to the other part i of the pump shaft via a claw coupling h.
The cast housing c has a cylindrical extension k on its ceiling, into which a bleeh cylinder rn, which forms the storage container for the fat, is inserted and crimped. The wall between the container and the housing consists of a wheel-like body, the rim n of which is connected to its hub o by arms p. The wreath n rests with its lower end face on an annular shoulder q. The conical ends of screws r, which are screwed into the cylindrical extension k from the outside, press on its upper end face, which is beveled.
A shaft s is mounted in the hub o of the partition wall and carries a screw conveyor t at its end protruding into the container and a cast crown, pin or pin wheel u at its end protruding into the housing. This meshes with a wheel'0 sitting on the shaft g and receives its drive from it.
With the low number of revolutions of the screw conveyor, which always rotates in the same direction

to run. The type of angle drive selected allows the wheel v to be removed without the mating wheel having to be removed. If a bevel gear was used, removal would be much more difficult.
A sieve IV is placed on the top of the partition wall in such a way that all of the grease that the conveyor screw presses into the pump housing has to pass through the sieve so that impurities are retained. The partition, including the sieve, as well as the shaft s, screw conveyor and gearwheel can be inserted into the container from above as a fully assembled group and tightened in it with the screws r.
An arm is attached to the radially cut-off upper end of the screw conveyor, which arm extends to the upper edge of the container and, during operation, sweeps past very close to the inner wall of the container. The side of the arm running along the inside of the container rises in a steep manner
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the direction of the screw conveyor is parallel to the helical curve. In addition, the surface of the arm pressing against the fat is twisted in a spiral shape, u. zw. so that the projection of the
Arm width on an imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis from the free end of the arm to the fastening point on the screw conveyor is always increasing.
During operation, the front edge of the arm, which is in the direction of rotation and which is guided along the container wall, separates the fat from the wall and the spirally twisted surface of the arm pushes and agglomerates the fat content lying above the conveyor screw, so that it moves along with the conveyor screw itself its own weight and is transferred to the twisted arm surface by the thrust effect.
The illustrated and described shape of the arm is particularly advantageous. However, within the scope of the invention, the arm could be designed as a straight rod which loosens the fat on the wall of the container. Between this simplest form and the one shown, many forms are still possible for the formation of the arm. It is only essential that the container filling space is not impaired by the arm, as is the case with the B. would be the case if the screw conveyor were continued to the upper edge of the storage container.
