  Fire extinguishing procedures.

The object of the invention consists in a method for suppressing fires that have broken out and consists in spraying protein solutions onto the burning objects in the given case. When exposed to the sudden heat of the burn, the protein solution causes it to coagulate to form an initially slimy, then rigid layer that covers the burned area and becomes as thick as hard-boiled protein and forms a firmly adhering crust on the burn.

The fact that the protein solution envelops the body on fire and closes the air access to the flame means that the fire is immediately extinguished.

The extinguishing effect of this solution. is a far larger than water alone and the extinguished fire site is then covered with a hard crust. This effect is not only to be ascribed to the water, but also to the simultaneous use of the protein solution.

Due to the enveloping, air-sealing effect, it can be used successfully, especially in the case of fires of films in cinematic theaters, of celluloid waste in workshops and factories and of celluloid goods, of wipes and cleaning cloths soaked with petrol or oil in car garages and of all highly flammable substances.

The agent is expediently made from dried protein, albumin, and made absolutely durable by adding fäuinish-preventing agents and is made roughly as follows:
Half a kilogram of albumin is dissolved in about 5 to 8 liters of water in the usual way and this solution is made halifiable by adding salicylic acid or another preservative and is filled in a sterile state into the fire extinguishing apparatus, gas syringes airtight closed
