Description

Verfahren zur Entfernung von Schwefelkohlenstoff aus Basen.
 EMI1.1

Process for removing carbon disulfide from bases.
 EMI1.1
mostly made of carbon disulfide. The methods for eliminating these compounds have therefore all been based on the removal of carbon disulfide, but have so far not led to a practical result.

A cheap absorbent that works at normal temperature and even when the carbon disulfide is very diluted is alkali cellulose or alkali cellulose mixed with lime, whereby it is advisable to ensure that carbonic acid and hydrogen sulfide are removed as completely as possible beforehand in a known manner.

To carry out the method, cellulose or cellulosic material, e.g. B. Sulphite cellulose and its waste, sawdust, sawdust, rags, cotton, cotton waste and the like. Converted into the alkali compound of cellulose, with which the carbon disulfide in gases combines to form cellulose xanthate, which can be recycled accordingly. Due to its porous nature, this gas cleaning compound is particularly suitable for creating the necessary free passage for the gas on the one hand and offering the carbon disulfide the largest possible surface for absorption on the other.

The gas is freed from carbon disulfide and, if the otherwise usual purification of hydrogen sulfide has been carried out, gives almost none when burned
 EMI1.2
The specific weight is reduced, which makes the gas more suitable for filling balloons.

Cinema regular monitoring of the degree of purity is possible, for example, through the magnificent compound of carbon disulfide in triethylphosphine, which crystallizes in ruby-red prisms.
