Vorrichtung zum Zerstören von Torpedoschutznetzen.
EMI1.1

Device for destroying torpedo protection nets.
EMI1.1
top. a plurality of fire tubes directed parallel to the torpedo axis are arranged, the piston-like projectiles carrying a common ring are forced back into the fire tubes when the torpedo hits a net, causing the charges arranged in the latter to explode and the ring carried by the projectiles, the Torpedo rushing ahead, is thrown against the net and the latter is destroyed.
The invention relates to further embodiments of this device, which are essentially characterized in that a single fire pipe is arranged instead of several pipes.
In Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing, two of these embodiments are shown in axial sections through the tip of the torpedo.
In both embodiments, it is assumed that the torpedo is not ignited by a firing pin arranged at the tip, as is the case with the subject of the parent patent, but that one of those known ignition devices is used in which the initial ignition is carried out by a firing pin arranged inside the torpedo takes place, which is put into action when the torpedo hits the ship's wall by the inertia of a movably mounted, heavy body.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, a single, sunk into the torpedo body en fire tube n is arranged at the tip of the torpedo, in which a piston-like projectile a is guided, which by means of several ribs h carries the tear ring r and t by an easily shearable pin is held in the preparatory position.
At the bottom of the fire tube n there is a cartridge o which is ignited by the hOlm impact of the ring on the net into the fire tube projectile a, so that the tear ring r rushes ahead of the torpedo with the additional speed obtained by its firing, from the tube ( i is thrown and has the known effect.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the tubes described in the parent patent are also replaced by a single fire tube which, however, does not have the same, full cylindrical, but an annular cylindrical cross-section, or rather concentric cylinders 1 ', united at their base. 1l 'is formed; In accordance with the ring-cylindrical, clear space of the fire tube r, M ', the projectile is made of a thick-walled one. ring-cylindrical body b is formed, the end of which protruding from the projectile forms the tear ring r or can carry a separate tear ring on suitable arms.
At the bottom of the ring-cylindrical fire tube 1 ″ is arranged the ring-shaped cartridge u which is triggered when the ring projectile is pushed back into the fire tube.
When the torpedo hits a net, the ring-cylindrical projectile b is pushed backwards with simultaneous shearing off of the fastening pin t, the charge 1. l thereby ignited and the projectile or tear ring ejected from the torpedo.
