The invention relates to a beer felt, in which the edge does not follow as before, but is raised on one or both sides by means of suitable pressure. Such plate-shaped beer felts have the particular advantage that they allow the absorbed liquid to evaporate much better due to the gaps that are created when they are stacked on top of each other. Beer felts are known to be stacked on the restoration tables when not in use. The previous flat beer felts naturally dry out very poorly.
In order to give the beer felt, which is mainly made of wood pulp (finely ground or rubbed wood), sufficient strength, it is provided with star-shaped or bowl-shaped impressions.
The drawing shows exemplary embodiments of the invention, namely: Fig. 1 shows a plate-shaped beer felt in cross section, Fig. 2 shows a double concave beer felt in cross section, Fig. 3 shows a double plate-shaped beer felt in cross section, Figs. 4 to 6 show the stiffening impressions.
