Description

Rotary kiln divided by longitudinal walls.

In the case of the known rotary kilns, in the upper part of which the cross-section is divided into three or more parts by means of plates, it has been found to be an evil that the material to be fired becomes stuck in the corners. In order to prevent this, the dividing plates according to the invention are not fixed as before, but rotatably arranged on the central axis of the furnace and can move freely between stop pieces of the furnace shell. Since the weight of the material always pushes the plates down, with each revolution of the oven there is a double movement of the plate between the stops and thus a jerky shaking and displacement of the material, which prevents it from sticking in the corners. In addition, better mixing of the material and a shorter burning time are achieved.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is explained using an exemplary embodiment, namely FIG. 1 shows the plate arrangement in cross section of a rotary kiln, FIG. 2 shows the support frame for the axis, FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section through the furnace.

The rotary kiln a has an axle shaft b on which the dividing plates c are pivotably mounted by hinges f.

Given the length of these ovens, the dividing plates are expediently divided into individual fields and the oven axis is held in its position by supporting frames e arranged between them. For each plate c, stops i are arranged on the wall of the furnace a at appropriate distances, between which the plates c can oscillate about the axis b. After reaching their highest and lowest position, the plates are forced by their own weight and the mass pressure to change the respective stop i and to change the position of the masses in jerks.

The pendulum movement of the plates c can of course be carried out in a wide variety of ways, axis b could also be omitted, the plates could be supported by pivot bearings on the support frames e and a more or less large pendulum movement of the plates could also be achieved in the middle of the furnace through the eccentric position of the pins.
