Schichtenzirkel.

Stratified Circle.
The subject of the present invention is a mechanical device for constructing layer lines in terrain representations, i. H. Creation of horizontal curves by interpolation between given uneven elevations.
The instrument has the character of a circle, the freedom of movement of which is therefore independent of the continuously changing terrain forms or stretches, adapts to the same instantaneously and enables both the construction of horizontal curves from given, uneven elevations as well as routes of variable sizes quickly and easily Way to divide into equal or unequal, steadily decreasing parts.
In the drawing the object is shown, namely shows: Fig. 1 the finished

in a reduced scheme the circle in use.
The subject matter of the invention consists of two parallel rails a, a, on which a plurality of compass legs b of different lengths are fastened in this way by means of attachment achräuhchen o, likewise at parallel intervals. that the whole thing represents a frame that can move in itself, the shape of which can be changed at will. The two rails a, a each have a higher standing screw d at two opposite ends, which serve as handle knobs.
The distances between the compass legs are intended to be equal in the present exemplary embodiment. If these distances are arranged to be steadily smaller, the requirement to be able to apply unequal, continuously smaller parts is also met. However, this type of stratification is used in practice because of the very small differences

As can be easily seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, the distances between the circular
