EMI2.6
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fig. U), wodurch auch gleichzeitig die Drosselklappe 50 vermittelst der Stange 51 geöffnet wird, so dass also sowohl durch die Luftklappe 79 als auch durch die obere Mündung des Kanals 47 Sekundärluft auf den Rost tritt. so that they move simultaneously and evenly. The lower flap 19 is provided with a pin 21 which engages in a slot 22 in the head 23 of a rod 24. By moving the rod 24 upwards, the flaps are opened; when moving downwards they close. When the flaps are closed (see Fig. 3), the pin 21 lies in the upward part

hinders.
The flaps are opened when the fire door 14 is opened. For this purpose, the rod 24 is passed through one of the eyes 15 to the side of the bolts 16 and rests on a lifting plate 26 which is attached to a lever 27. On the other end of the lever 27, a nose acts on a lever 29 which can be rotated about an axis 30. One arm of the lever 29 is connected by a toggle rod 32 to a crank arm 34 which is loosely on the pin 16
EMI2.2
Door 14, the pin 16 rotates and the arm 340 strikes the crank. 34. As a result, the lever 29, the weight lever 35 and the lever 27 are brought into the position shown in FIG. 1 and remain in this position under the influence of the inhibiting mechanism.
When the door is now closed again, the rod 24 rises on the plate 26 attached to the lever 27 and shifts lengthways in the eye 15 to the position shown in FIG. 4, in which both air flaps 18, 19 are open. The arm 340 returns when the door is closed, while the crank 34 stops. Under the influence of the loading lever 35, the parts then return to their usual position in which the lever 27 and the plate 26 are horizontal in a time that can be regulated by the setting of the escapement. The rod 24 sinks under the influence of the dead weight of the flaps 18, 19 into the position shown in FIG. 3, so that the flaps close and the upper air admission ceases.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 10, a push rod 80 engages on each flap 18, 19 and each carries a slot 22, specifically at a real angle to its guidance. The push rods 80 are guided horizontally on the fire door. The slots 22 also include down pins 21 on the flaps. A rod 2. JO interacts with the push rods, which is guided vertically displaceably on the front plate of the furnace and on the lower end of which the lifting plate 26 acts with the lever 27, which is also set up as described above. The rod 246 is equipped with stops 81 which, in the illustrated embodiment, have the shape of a wedge.
These stop surfaces interact with the ends of the push rods 80.

while standing. The edges of the rods 80 then hit against the stops 81 and as a result these rods are displaced horizontally and the flaps are opened (Mg. 9). The downward movement of the rod 246 now takes place slowly and the wedge-shaped stops gradually release the push rods 80, so that the flaps close slowly. Appropriate design of the
EMI2.4
uniform movement of the escapement can be achieved so that, depending on the shape of the wedge surface, the end can be slower at first and then faster.
The essence of the embodiment shown in FIGS. 11 to 14 essentially consists in the fact that the device used to move the stops 81 is designed in such a way that the stops are activated independently of the opening of the fire door or of the actuation of the
EMI2.5
the air flaps is turned on. In the illustrated embodiment, the rod 240 provided with the stops 81 and movably mounted on the fire cabinet is extended upwards.
The extension 5 provided with a stop 2J carries a displaceable sleeve 9 which is connected by the joint 7 to the crank 8 which is firmly seated on the shaft 10. The latter can be rotated by the handle 12.
If the fire door 14 is opened in the position of the lever 12 and thus of the entire rod assembly shown in FIG. 11 and the plate 26 is raised as a result, it is thereby in the
EMI2.6

the shaft 10 rotated upwards. As a result, the sleeve 9, which is connected to the crank 8 by the joint 7, lifts the rod 240 and thus the stop 81 by means of the stop 25 which is fixedly connected to the rod 5, 240. This in turn acts on the means of movement of the air damper, which are consequently opened in a suitable manner and remain in this position until the lever 12 is turned upwards again.
In the illustrated embodiment, an auxiliary blower valve 1 is also arranged, which is opened at the same time as the inlet for the secondary air. The line 2 is used to let in the steam, the pipe 4 leads to the blower, and through 3 the condensation water flows off.
According to the invention, the valve rod 6, for. B. by the joint 73, connected to a crank 11 firmly seated on the shaft 10. This has the effect that when actuating the stops 81, i. H. When the air flaps are opened, the Hüfsb'äser- valve 1 is opened and the fan is turned on.
In order to avoid jamming of the push rods 80 of the exemplary embodiment described above with certainty, in this exemplary embodiment instead of
Push rods 80 used a lever 23 rotatably attached to the fire door, one of which
Leg 37 with the air flap and its other leg 33 with the stop surfaces 81 together. The leg 37 is expediently designed as an angled slot 22. which comprises the bolt 21 of the lower air flap 19 and holds it immovably when the air flap is closed. If the rod 240 is raised from the position illustrated in FIG. 73, the lever 23 is rotated about the pin 28 by the stop 81 and, by means of the slot 22, the flap 19 and the flap 18 hinged to it is opened.
During the downward movement of the rod 240, the lever 23 is brought back into the position shown in FIG. 13 by the weight of the air flaps. In this it is appropriately secured by

and the stop 81 holds.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 15 to 18, in addition to the front upper air supply, a supply of secondary upper air is also provided at the rear end of the grate, and it

connected to each other so that secondary air enters at the same time at the front and rear ends of the grate.
If special air flaps attached to the fire door are used in the embodiment described above, in the present embodiment the fire door is divided and the lower part rotatably connected to the upper part is used as an air flap at the same time. The air flap is opened when the stop 4. 3 is brought into the working position when the fire door is opened, against which a stop 44 located on the air flap 19 hits when the fire door is closed, whereby the air flap is opened. Here, too, the air flap is gradually closed by its own weight and a special weight J5

The device described works as follows: When the fire door 14 is closed, the air flap 19 is opened (ver). Fig. U), whereby the throttle valve 50 is opened simultaneously by means of the rod 51, so that secondary air enters the grate both through the air valve 79 and through the upper mouth of the channel 47.
