The inventor has now posed the problem of using steel as the Ausson layer and aluminum as the inner layer without a special joining process by heating or electric current and without an intermediate layer of solder being required.

He achieves this purpose by slipping a cylinder made of hard metal, such as steel, over a cylinder made of light metal, such as aluminum, and then by rolling on the inner wall of a hollow die, embossing the outer cylinder with the embossing and with the inner cylinder united. This is an expedient solution to the problem, because initially spongy, electroplated metal is not available; instead, drawn tubes made of steel and aluminum, which are extraordinarily strong as a result of the machining, can be used.

Furthermore, both layers of the wheel are vigorously hardened at the same time by the rolling process, an advantage that is not achieved with subsequent nickel plating or subsequent casting and backing of embossed wheels. In addition, since the metal of the inner layer penetrates into that of the steel outer layer in the stamping associated with rolling, especially at the points where it is drawn into the stamping of the die, an excellent combination of both layers and no less good stiffening of the thin ones , hard outer layer is achieved, and much better than with any other process, because the high pressure that occurs during rolling makes the

From the foregoing it follows that the present invention does not just mean that
