Description
2 AT 500 384 B12 AT 500 384 B1
The invention relates to a cover for a tank, od a container wall, a roof and possibly projecting from the roof vent pipes, Pumprohre, pressure gauges, balusters. The like., Wherein the cover comprises at least one laminate layer which is applied over the roof of the tank , Such a cover is intended in particular for (storage) tanks whose original cover has become leaky and unreliable as a result of exposure to weathering, corrosion, chemicals, etc. The invention also includes a method of such a cover.
20Such a tank cover is known from US 1,599,109 A. This document discloses a tank whose roof panel is covered by laminate layers. It is a weather-resistant cover made of two layers of laminate, which consist of asphalt-impregnated felt or paper, and an oil-vapor-resistant cover, which is present either as a coating or in the form of impregnated with adhesive, glycerin or with a certain content of paints layer of fibers , These 15 layers arranged above the roof plate are not self-supporting, but are carried by the roof panel of the tank. In the event of gradual destruction of the roof panel due to corrosion and exposure to chemicals, it is no longer able to support the overlying layers. The consequences of a collapse of the entire cover, especially for hazardous and combustible materials are unpredictable. 20
Da die Folie über den Behälter gespannt, wird und weder darunter 25 liegende Zwischenabdeckungen noch die Folie selbst Belastungen ausgesetzt sind, wird die Frage der Stabilität nicht behandelt.GB 1 499 206 describes a method for topping or closing food containers with a film, which in one embodiment may also be present as a multilayer or laminated film. The aim is to seal the food stored in the container hygienic and airtight. Since the film is stretched over the container, and neither underlying intermediate covers nor the film itself are subjected to stress, the issue of stability is not dealt with.
35EP 0963727A2 discloses a transparent container with a likewise transparent lid. These containers are thermally insulated containers, such as 30 vacuum bottles, coolers, lunch boxes and the like. Like the container itself, the lid is also designed as a double wall and in the area between the two walls a layer is arranged which is intended to shield thermal radiation. As an example, laminate is given. However, this document does not relate to the invention in any way since, as in GB 1 499 206, the question of stability does not even arise. 35
In the prior art tanks are known, the sheet metal or steel roof are provided with a locking mechanism, which are arranged below the roof. Thus, US 2,578,090 A and US 2,461,537 A disclose a tank whose roof is supported by a locking mechanism. However, as well as the roof itself, this locking mechanism is exposed to corrosion and to the chemicals stored in the tank. Over time, it loses its reliability and the risk of a roof collapse increases significantly. Replacing the entire roof with a locking mechanism is inevitable and, in addition to enormous expenditure (the contents of the tank must be removed), causes considerable costs. 45 (steel) tanks for storing water, hydrocarbons, chemicals, biological material or the like begin to rust after some time. Particularly affected is the cover or the roof of the tank, which depending on size, shape, material and wall thickness sooner or later becomes unreliable and must therefore be replaced. Before a new roof can be mounted and welded to the tank wall, first of all the contents must be pumped out of the tank, which in the case of dangerous, e.g. means highly costly flammable and / or corrosive liquids or gases. Once the tank is tight again, the original content is refilled. In many cases, a vacant reserve tank is not available, so the procedure described above is out of the question. 55 These problems require a solution that ensures an elegant and cost-effective re-establishment of the tank's reliability.
According to the invention this is achieved in that the cover comprises a laminate layer, which is preferably self-supporting and with its firmly connected struts 5 has.
Similarly, the method for producing a reliable cover for a tank, the od a tank wall, a roof and possibly protruding from the roof vent pipes, Pumprohre, pressure gauges, handrails. Like., Is applied over the roof at least one laminate layer , According to the invention characterized in that the preferably self-supporting laminate layer is provided with braces.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are in the dependent claims closer ge-15 features and set forth in the description.
The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a tank which is provided with a cover according to the invention, and FIG. 2 shows a cover according to the invention with a bracing from above and FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the cover provided with a bracing.
Fig. 1 shows a tank 1 consisting of a bottom 2, a container wall 3 and a roof 4. From above, a vent pipe 5 extends into the interior of the tank. A railing for repair and maintenance work is mounted in the area of the upper perimeter of the tank. The roof 25 4 is severely affected by corrosion and already has roughened holes. According to the invention a resin layer in the form of a laminate is provided directly on the roof 4, which surrounds the upper edge 6 of the container wall 3 and thus seals the tank. The laminate layer 7 is resistant to chemicals, hydrocarbons or biological material, e.g. Bacteria, depending on the purpose of the tank. This is necessary because, on the one hand, vapors could attack the laminate layer 7, on the other hand, chemicals and bacteria can come into direct contact with the underside of the laminate layer 7 as a result of condensation formation. Examples of suitable chemical resistant resins are vinyl ester resins. Above the laminate layer 7, a further, the edge 6 of the container wall 3 embracing Lami-35 natschicht 8 is applied, which should withstand the effects of weather. Examples of weather resistant resins are epoxy resins or polyurthane resins. It is also possible to provide a plurality of chemical-resistant layers 7 and a plurality of weather-resistant layers 8. Instead of the laminate layer 8, a robust plastic or metal foil, a preformed plastic roof and / or a coating, for example a lacquer layer, 40 may be provided.
In one embodiment, the laminate layer 7 is resistant to weathering as well as to chemicals and / or bacteria. Examples of replaceable resins are epoxy resins whose chemical resistance is, however, not as high as, for example, 45 vinyl ester resins. A second laminate layer is not necessary for this case. However, this alternative is particularly advantageous to apply if the tank roof still has no holes through holes.
In particular, in tanks with aggressive chemicals and thus given very high risk of corrosive 50 the above alternative, however, represents a less preferred embodiment, since the laminate layer must be specially aligned against the respective chemical. Adding weather-resistant properties to additives would reduce the efficiency against the chemical. The laminate layers 7, 8 are applied to the venting ports projecting from the roof, pumping tubes, pressure gauges, handrails or the like, which prior to the application of the laminate, e.g. be cleaned by sandblasting, brought and sealed with these sealing.
The upper edge 6 of the container wall 3 has to be cleaned before the application of the laminate layers, if necessary, or, if appropriate, freed from the lacquer. This is preferably done by sandblasting. On the grit blasted surface formwork 9, for example by gluing attached along the circumference of the tank, which serve to stop the still liquid resin and prevent downflow on the container wall 3. The formwork 9 can consist of several individual parts which come to lie next to each other and either zu¬ io together, e.g. be secured by a clamping ring (or clamping cable) or separated from each other at the upper edge 6.
The holes or weak points which may be present in the old roof 4 are provided with sheets 10, preferably of plastic or metal, e.g. a sheet metal, which are placed before the Auf-15 bring the bottom laminate layer 7 or glued, covered. The resin layers 7, 8 are preferably present as a laminate. The roof 4 is first covered with a fabric layer, preferably glass mats or textile glass fabric, which is then impregnated with resin. Just as well, the lamination can also be done in reverse order, so first orders of the resin and then the pressing of the fabric layer. With suitable dimensioning, the laminate layers 7, 8 are self-supporting. Even if the roof 4 becomes increasingly fragile and unreliable due to corrosion, the cover according to the invention remains as a stable dome. This dome is supported by the container wall 3, at the upper edge 6, the cover is attached. 25 The mat for lamination, e.g. a glass mat od. Like., With the container wall 3 and the formwork 9 and with the vent pipe 5, optionally nozzle for pump lines, valves or pressure sensors, etc., if such are provided glued.
Such a cover seals the tank 1 to the outside optimally and can be used both at 30 leaky roofs as well as still reliable roofs as a preventive measure against future leaks. The application of the cover of the invention is simple and inexpensive compared to the repair of the tank and the associated reciprocating content. The solution according to the invention is particularly elegant because the old roof initially serves as a mold for the resin layer, but is no longer needed after the curing of the resin, since the layer is in any case self-supporting. In addition, the layers 7, 8 are much more resistant to chemicals, corrosion, weather (wet, acid rain ...) etc compared to the original roof.
45The inventive method for applying at least one laminate layer is not only applicable to the type of tanks shown in the figure. All possible shapes with horizontal, pomaded, kinked, round, square, etc. Roofs or container walls can be covered with a laminate layer. Self-lying, essentially cylindrical tanks whose cylinder axis is horizontal, come into question. The roof in this case would be the upper cylinder casing. 45
For tanks housed in a warehouse, the application of a weather-resistant layer is unnecessary. In the event that water tanks have to be sealed, the criterion of chemical resistance is not given. It is also possible to use laminates which are weather-resistant and resistant to chemicals and / or bacteria at the same time; in the case of tanks standing outdoors, a single layer would be conceivable in this case.
Fig. 2 shows, together with Fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the invention, in which 8 struts 11 are mounted on the uppermost laminate layer. These are particularly required for large tanks and tanks where the struts of the original roof are no longer reliable due to corrosion. This measure achieves self-contained coverage even in severely damaged roofs. In the illustrated embodiment, the struts 11 along the central axis halved plastic pipes, such as glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes, which are firmly connected by means of laminate coatings 12 with the uppermost laminate layer 8 and thereby constitute a stiffening of the cover 5 of the invention. Of course, the tubes used as struts do not have to be round, but can have any cross-section, e.g. oval, triangular, quadrangular, etc .. As shown in detail in Fig. 3, the struts 11 are embedded between two laminate coatings 12, whereby after curing of the laminate coatings 12 is a firm connection between the laminate layer 8 and the strut 10 io. As a variant, the struts 11 may also be completely covered by the laminate coating 12.
25A particularly preferred embodiment is to embed the struts 11 between two laminate layers of the cover according to the invention. A solid connection 15 of the struts 11 with the cover is given from the outset and therefore does not require any additional measures, such as additional laminate coatings, adhesives, etc., as is the case with struts 11 provided on the uppermost layer. In addition, the struts 11 completely enclosed by the laminate are not exposed to environmental influences. It would also be conceivable to arrange the struts 11 directly on the roof 4 of the tank 1 20 and subsequent application of the first laminate layer. In this case, the struts 11 would be embedded between the roof 4 and the first laminate layer, which also creates a firm connection with the cover. A combination of all these variants, so struts 11 in several layers or layers is possible, wherein the struts 11 of the individual layers are optionally also arranged offset from one another. 25
Versteifungswirkung verliehen. The adaptation of the struts 11 to the curvature of the cover or of the tank roof takes place, for example. by simple bending and subsequent provisional fixation in a few places. The apparent from Fig. 3 cavity, which forms the half-tube with the cover, optionally od with a solidifying filler, such as curing resin or the like can be filled, for example by means of injection. This gives the strut additional stability or stiffening effect.
Aluminium, Kunststoffen, Kunstharzen, etc.. So wären durchaus auch vorgefertigte Laminatträger denkbar. 40According to the requirements, which are determined by means of static calculations, any conceivable type of bracing can be used for stiffening the cover, 35 of course also those which do not form a cavity with the cover. They may take the form of rods, beams, stiffening ribs, I-beams, molding tubes, etc. of various cross-sections and thicknesses, and made of a variety of materials, such as steel, light metals, e.g. Aluminum, plastics, synthetic resins, etc .. So also prefabricated laminate support would be conceivable. 40
The struts 11 extend from the edge of the tank roof to the center, where they are firmly connected to a ring 13. In the event that a (vent) stub 5 protrudes from the tank 1 in the middle, the collar 13 may be attached thereto, e.g. by gluing. The ring 13 itself may consist of the same materials and shapes that have already been listed for the Ver-45 struts 11.
55 Die in Fig. 2 gezeigte radiale Anordnung der Verstrebungen 11 stellt lediglich eine für kreisför-The struts 11 of the cover according to the invention are preferably arranged offset to or between the struts or supports 14 of the original tank roof (indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2), whereby maximum stability is achieved with at least partially intact original 50 lain struts 14 , The struts 11 are preferably slightly above the tank roof edge and together with the underlying laminate layers form a unit which is carried as a whole by the upper edge 6 of the container wall 3. The radial arrangement of the struts 11 shown in FIG. 2 merely provides one for circular support.
