Description

 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

It is known to use coils for electrical machines and apparatus to achieve favorable cooling conditions by winding the coils from bare flat copper and only isolating them between the individual layers. However, only the comparatively narrow back of each turn comes into consideration for the direct transfer of heat to the surrounding air.

It has been proposed to improve the cooling by making individual turns of the coils wider than the others, in such a way that they protrude far laterally over them. But then you have to use two different conductor profiles for the same coil.

According to the present invention, even when using a single profile, a considerably enlarged cooling surface can be achieved by winding the flat copper at individual points with an enlarged winding radius. As a result, the turn in question is advanced laterally between the adjacent turns and offers the possibility of better cooling due to its exposed surfaces.

Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing show, for. B. such a coil for a pole core with an elongated cross section.
