Process for the production of cellular tires, the cells of which are filled with compressed air or another gas.

The present invention relates to a method for producing cellular wheel tires, the cells of which are filled with compressed air or another gas, and consists in that the assembly and vulcanization of the tire layers provided with mutually corresponding recesses takes place in a space which is under a higher than atmospheric tension stands.

In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows the layers of the tire in cross section before
 EMI1.1
assumes that chemical substances were introduced into the individual cells before the vulcanization, which, through the heat applied during the subsequent vulcanization, developed a gas that was generated in such a large quantity that the cell received a certain pressure. According to the present invention, this method of filling the cells with pressurized gas is replaced by a significantly more simplified method. According to the present invention, the cellular tire is composed of four layers in a known manner, which can be imagined to have arisen from cuts which are made parallel to the tire plane. At the corresponding intersection of two layers are opposite
 EMI1.2
 Add hollow balls.

The assembly and vulcanization of the rubber layers prepared in this way now takes place in a space that is advantageously 6 atm. stands. The cells take on the tension prevailing in space and behave like inflated air cushions when they are brought out of space under normal atmospheric pressure. Another advantage of this method over the known method is that all cells have the same voltage and that a large number of such tires can be produced at the same time.
