 EMI1.1

The subject of the present invention is a metal cross arm for ice masts, which is bent upwards to form an upright leg, the head surfaces of which support the special supports of the insulators, are as high as possible above the horizontal leg of the cross arm, for the purpose of danger The occurrence of short circuits between the latter and the line wires can be prevented much better than with the usual straight cross arm with an insulator carrier attached to its end.

In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows the front view and FIG. 2 shows the side view of a mast equipped with such cross arms, and FIG. 3 shows schematically the embodiment of the cross arms that has been customary up to now.

According to the invention, the transverse arm a is bent upwards to form an upright leg and on the head surface carries the supports c on which the insulators b are placed. These are so high above the horizontal leg of the cross arm that there is a risk of short keys between the latter and the line wires - e.g. B. by lying GEgenstäne (shown in phantom) or by birds that touch the wire and the horizontal cross arm in flight at the same time - is significantly reduced, while according to Fig. 3 with the low upright legs, which are formed only by the insulator support, this risk is very big. A short circuit between the conductor wire and the upright leg of the cross arm, however, is not easy, possible.

The cross arm can consist of metal tube or profile iron of any cross-section
