Claims

In some cases, the bridge can be made stronger than it used to be, if it is to be built lighter, the result is a lighter shade, but it loses a bit of its softness.

Another property of the pockwood has been shown in experiments, namely that the tone becomes stronger and stronger with longer months of playing, in particular this has been observed with violins whose bridge at the foot was more than 4 tnw strong.
