  Grundform für Metallbuchstaben und Metallmonogramme. 



   Es ist zwar schon bekannt, nach bestimmten Schablonen oder Schablonenaufdrücken aus undurchbrochenen Flächen (Papier, Blech) gewisse Teile herauszunehmen, um dadurch verschiedene Buchstaben zu gewinnen. Diese bekannte Methode, die übrigens nur eine sehr beschränkte Anwendung zulässt, kann jedoch nur für die Buchstaben der lateinischen Schrift mit einigermassen entsprechendem Erfolg angewendet werden. 



   Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft eine Grundform   für Metallbuchstaben   und   M : etallrnonogramme   und besteht darin, dass sie   diu Formteile aller   Buchstaben oder   Buchstabenkombinationen aufweist, zum Zwecke, durch Abtrennen der jeweils   überflüssigen Gliederteile die Buchstaben herzustellen. 



   Die Erfindung geht von der Feststellung aus, dass   d) p Buchstaben   der gebräuchlichen europäischen Schriften eine grosse Zahl gemeinsamer Formteile besitzen, so dass sich alle   Buchstaben   auf   einige wenige Grundformen bezw.   auf eine einzige Grundform   zurückführen   lassen. In der Zeichnung ist an einigen Beispielen die Herstellung von Buchstaben oder   Monogrammen   oder vor-gegliederten   Grundformen   veranschaulicht. Durch Abtrennen, etwa Absägen des unteren oder des oberen Balkens aus der in Fig. 1 gezeigten Grundform wird z. B. das in Fig. 3   abgebildete Monogramm I. 0. bezw.   der russische Buchstabe F erhalten. Die Grundform, Fig. 5, erlaubt es z.

   B. unter Anderem, die in den Fig. 2,4, 6, 7, 8 und 9 veranschaulichten Monogramme durch Entfernung entsprechender Teile zu erzeugen.
