Verfahren zur Herstellung von Knallkorken.
EMI1.1

Process for the production of pop corks.
EMI1.1
The cracking corks, which have hitherto been used as a deterrent by cyclists and motorists in particular, have the problem that the primer is easily eaten by jolts or vibrations, falls out of the cork and is then caused to ignite prematurely by external friction. As a result, major accidents caused by explosions and the like have repeatedly occurred. In order to avoid this, according to the present process, safe cracked cork is produced.
A cork will have a conical bore into which a metal primer is pressed; the primer is placed in the primer cap, which is then covered by the protective sheet.
A cork produced by this method is shown in section on the drawing. The cork a is provided with a conical bore b into which the primer c is pressed. In the cap lies the primer d, whose falling out is prevented by the protective sheet e, and the opening in the cork is also covered by another protective plate f.
The conical shape of the bore is the cause that the inserted parts are jammed; the hole itself has a smaller diameter than the primer, so that the elasticity of the cork is also used for holding.
