Schutzvorrichtung an Strassenbahnwagen.
Diese Erfindung bezieht sich auf Schutzvorrichtungen für Strassenbahnwagen, bei welchen eine vor der Brustwand des Wagens pendelnd aufgehängte Fangfläche unter dem Widerstande des Fahrthindernisses zurückweichen und sich hiebei mit dem Vorderende zwecks leichten Erfassens des Fahrthindernisses herabsenken kann. Die Erfindung liegt in der eigenartigen Aufhängung dieser Fangfläche, die ein zwangsweises Verstellen derselben in der Weise bewirkt, dass gleichzeitig beim Zurückweichen die Vorderkante gegen die Fahrbahn herabgesenkt und gleichzeitig die Hinterkante aufgehoben wird, um das Unterfassen des Fahrthindernisses zu begünstigen und sein Herabrollen nach rückwärts unter den Wagen zu verhindern.
Dip Zeichnung veranschaulicht die Schutzvorrichtung in Fig. 1 und 2 in ihren beiden Endstellungen in Seitenansicht.
Die vorteilhaft muldenförmig ausgebildete Fangfläche a ist an beiden Schmalseiten mittels je zweier sich kreuzender Laschen b und c an einem an der Brustwand d des Fahrzeuges angebrachte Träger. t'pendelnd aufgehängt, so zwar, dass sie unter dem Widerstande eines Fahrthindernisses zurückweichen kann.
Hiebei bewirkt die Kreuzung der Aufhängelaschen dass sich die Vorderkante g der Fangfläche dicht auf die Fahrbahn herabsenkt (Fig. 2), während die Hinterkante ansteigt. Dadurch erhält die Fangfläche eine solche Lage, dass ihre Vorderkante das Fahrthindernis leicht unterfassen kann, während ein Herabrollen desselben nach rückwärts infolge Höherliegend der Hinterkante verhindert ist.
Um zu verhüten, dass die Fangfläche, deren Vorderkante bei Nichtgebrauch doch etwas über der Fahrbahn hinwegstreicht, sich im entgegengesetzten Sinne verschwenke, also über das
Fahrthindernis aufsteige und so das letztere unter die Fangfläche zu liegen käme, ist an der

Protective device on trams.
This invention relates to protective devices for trams, in which a catching surface suspended in a pendulous manner in front of the chest wall of the car can recede under the resistance of the travel obstacle and thereby lower with the front end for the purpose of easy grasping of the travel obstacle. The invention lies in the peculiar suspension of this catch surface, which causes a forced adjustment of the same in such a way that at the same time the front edge is lowered against the roadway when retreating and at the same time the rear edge is lifted in order to facilitate reaching under the travel obstacle and its rolling backwards to prevent the car.

The advantageously trough-shaped catch surface a is on both narrow sides by means of two intersecting tabs b and c on a carrier attached to the chest wall d of the vehicle. t'pendulum suspended in such a way that it can retreat under the resistance of a travel obstacle.
The crossing of the suspension straps has the effect that the front edge g of the catching surface lowers tightly onto the roadway (FIG. 2) while the rear edge rises. As a result, the catching surface is in such a position that its front edge can easily grasp under the obstacle, while it is prevented from rolling backwards due to the rear edge being higher up.
